Autodidacticism - NO MORE!

Oh don't worry, I'm still as healthy as the Cookie Monster.I'm just fancy and not self taught anymore. The days of basking in the glory and comfort of being a "self taught" baker have now officially come to an end. Well, the journey until this point was ummm..lets see, easy peesy lemon squeesy! In fact, it was as easy as starting this blog (Oh who am I kidding? *tears rolling*). I was sinking into the false belief that I knew it all and would one day "figure" it all out on my own. In other words, I refused to accept that I needed HELP! I had to let go of that false belief and self-pride and stoop down a little. After long hours of self-talk, self-debate and self-reflection..... I made a decision. I decided to pursue something big, scary, exciting and expensive (thank you Dad!). Don't be afraid to take "Whisks"

Often one comes to a point in their lives where they are asked to chose and make big decisions that would change their lives forever. Like, choosing between pumpkin pie or apple pie , chocolate tart or lemon tart , ice-cream or fro-yo's , okay let's make this more real ; biryani or pulao (BIRYANI obviously, Gosh!!). Ha ha...but life knows better than to make our choices this simple. The undaunted choice to be made is only between passion and stability.  Oh! how one hopes to achieve both, like the perfect blend between butter and sugar to make that fluffy, chewy, melt in your mouth, buttery goodness that everybody wants in a cookie (Okay, I will spare you a few minutes to go eat that cookie).... Some of you'll do find stability by pursuing your passion and some of us don't. Now let's move our focus to the one's who don't or didn't. Was giving up that easy? No, I 'm not sick! I'm just fancy and self-taught. Ha ha..(It literally took me about 4 tries to pronounce that right).  Okay, that wasn't your average introduction so lets try that again.  Hi there! I'm Jessica John, your average home baker with an above average passion and love for this art and also your new blogger now, I suppose. So let's begin with the baking journey thus far, Taking it way back to 2008:  From having a series of burnt cakes ( honestly just two) to reaching that ultimate moment of baking a perfectly moist chocolate cake (according to 14 year old me) from the recipe I took off the cooking book that came with the new microwave dad bought that year, the love for baking surely got embedded in me as I began my sweet journey. I faintly remember strutting around the entire household as if Pierre Herme   himself had come down to approve this cake and I as a baking marvel.
